minum pagi

I always think it’s a good policy for government servants to have ‘minum pagi’ break every morning. Not all people can take food early in the morning before going to work, or have time to prepare one and of course, by having minum pagi break we help thousands of hawkers, warung2, stalls and cafes in which most of them are owned by Malays to make their living. But today, I finally found its ‘bull****’ and what a problem the policy is to the customers especially if you want to meet someone at the office.

1) You go to work at 8 am, at 9.30 out for minum pagi till 10.30am…If you’re really having breakfast, it would roughly take less than 20 mins..okaylah 30 minutes tops. But the problem is, instead of minum at the cafe 2 minutes away, you choose to go to a mamak stall 20 mins drive away! helllloooooo it’s working time okay! What a waste of time. Lots of work can be done, problems can be solved, customers can be satisfied in that wasted 1 1/2 hours..

2) On Monday, you have breakfast at 9am, Tuesday at 10a, Wed at 9.30 am and so on…. there’s no specific time and you go at your own leisure. What will happen to the customers who wait to meet you at the office? let them wait? what will happen to your piagam pelanggan that said ‘anda akan dilayan dalam masa 15 minits bla2….” I suggest you bring those boards down. And I really hate these sentences “owh, En. X baru je keluar minum” or “maaflah, En. Z takde, dia keluar minum. Pukul 11 pg nanti datang balik la ye

3) It’s MOOOOORE than a minum pagi. First, teh tarik n nasi lemak. Then you take time for a fag. At the same time, you read newspaper or borak2 kosong, then go to the bank to pay bills and only after that you’re back @ your desk. Dem…

Basically, I’m pissed! Nak keje, keje betul2 lah. Makan gaji bute ape?

I do not have anything interesting to write lately…

I found an old book in my dad bookshelf which I think is interesting to read. Just about to start reading chapter 2. What book is it? Hmm… 1st published in 1969, written by one of the most influential people in our country’s history… cuba teka kalau terer..

And I had a funny thought after shower today. I think I miss my hair dryer! :D

The East Coast

Greetings! It’s been a few days since my last entry. Just came back from the east coast. Shopping, shopping, shopping and shopping again. Got myself a few pasang sutera and tudung for Hari Raya and baju kerja :) One good thing bout being the only daughter is that, when it comes to shopping with my mother, I can ask for anything, “want that one, that one and this one too..owh..and the one on the patung please..hehehe”.. Just point and shoot! Bad..very bad of me :) Perhaps this is the last time I could ask her to buy them for me. Next time in the future it would be my turn to do so.

I’m back to my normal routine. Being an unpaid housemaid. Cleaning, washing, cooking, ironing, feed the cats and fishes bla bla bla……. great!

Isn’t life wonderful?

39000 ft

Home. Safe and sound! Tiring though. My journey started at 3.30 pm Monday. 4 people sent me away at the airport, to them I forever say thank you and I know I will miss them a lot. I flew BMI from Manchester to London Heathrow. Usually 45 minutes flight is nothing to me. But it was different this time. I flew with an empty stomach! I had errand to do in the morning, went to the bank, met my landlord and did few other stuffs so I only had a few bites of Subway for lunch. God, my tummy was grumbling and I felt soo sick on the plane that make me wanna jump out of the window!!! To make matter worse it took forever to go to Heathrow terminal 3 from terminal 1. First I had to walk, then got into a transfer bus then walk again. Once in Terminal 3 duty free area, the first thing I did was look for food and sushi pack ready to go was convenient enuff. I’ve learnt my lesson.

My next flight MH001 was on time. It’s just that I had to walk for about 20 mins to get to the gate. *sigh*. Why must park the plane so far away?? The ground staffs were good and I got my first ‘welcome home’ wish from them hehehehe…It was a full flight and my seat number was 62G. That seat is second row from behind ok!!! Owh one of the stewardy (note the y) auw…auw…help me with my hand luggage, laptop and chocolates I bought at duty free. It was an old aircraft, clean n tidy, but some extra work could be done to the toilets. Owh, I asked for lamb in the flight, but that one chubby cute beautiful stewardess said, only chicken left lah cik *sigh* (I could see her lying eyes..) Could not blame her, 12 hours working on her feet make it impossible for her to drag her legs 10 metres back to the kitchen (if they called it kitchen) to get me the dish I desired. I let few minutes passed, finished my dessert, fruits n salad first, then I saw my ‘auww auww stewardy’ approaching. He swapped my chix for lamb yeay! By the way, I was dem bored and got nothing to do in the plane coz the entertainment selection sucks thus I paid attention to other things. Peeked on other passengers, read the magazines n newspapers and wonder how did the stewardess got their jumper on without messing up their hair (u know, that bee hive on their head) I also realised the captain has a very very nice voice! He must be good in karaoke too if he got that wonderful voice. Soothing, calm voice, full of confident with perfect English. Would recommend him to be a freelance MC once he retired!! Haha..I don’t think he would bother bout that with few millions golden handshake at retirement. Finally, touched down at KLIA at 5.33 pm. Then we head for KFC at the airport, on the way back, stopped by at my auntie’s house, ambil durian, then stopped again for dinner. I had yong tau fu, satay and laksa. Once at home, I had durians for supper. Glad I’m home. There is no place in the world that can be compared to Malaysia food heaven!

Now, I want to take a good long holiday before I start my sleepless days as a junior house officer. At the moment I am seriously considering Hospital Melaka. Big hospital and close to home. Perfect!

the pursuit of happyness..

Greetings from Manchester.. exactly 16 hours before my departure. Last 48 hours were among the best days I ever had in Manchester. My tall sis is here. Coming all the way from Preston to spend time with me :) We went shopping, watched Mamma Mia (I’m in ABBA mood now), makan2 @ Starbucks (love its Tuna Melt..yummy!!), took lots of photos hmm basically, living our youth to the fullest. Yesterday, I realised how “retail therapy ” really works for some people to lift up their spirits. Complete happiness. How much money have I spent? hehe…

Would I miss this place once I’ve gone? I’m not too sure. Perhaps it’s a yes and no
